Star of the North 2007/08

The Star of the North concluded on Sunday 23/3/08 with nearly every section going down to the last day of the competition.

Sam Jimmison was Leading Rider of the Star of the North 2008 with nearly 250 points and wins £200 kindly donated by Richard Picken and Graham Fellows plus the perpetual Ublesco Blue Memorial Trophy kindly donated by Freda Pullan.

The Middleton Riding Centre and Tack Shop Novice Champion is Sam Jimmison riding her own Whidor, Sam accrued 42 points and wins a saddle kindly donated by our sponsor. She also receives the perpetual Rocktops My Mystery Trophy kindly by Jenny & Alison Lines. Gayle McDonnell and Dictalex with 36 points were reserve Champions and will receive a bridle again kindly donated by our sponsor.

The Gareth Watchman Intermediate Champion was Mandy Grey riding her own Vintha with 38 points, Mandy will receive a chq for £200 and rug sponsored by Gareth and also the perpetual Jean Mewse Memorial Trophy donated by Alan Mewse in memory of his Mum. Closely behind with 36 points each were Reserve Champions Alison Lines riding Holly Stevensons Arctic Fox and Briony Everall riding her grandfather Bruce's Unie. They will both share the £150 prize.

The Joanne Roseberry Chilton Country Pub and Hotel 1.10m Open Champion 2008 is Sara Blakey riding her own Ferndale Summer Breeze with 40 points. Sara will receive a chq for £200 and rug kindly donated by our sponsor and the perpetual Full Circle Trophy kindly donated by Norma & Angie Mills. Reserve Champion is Sam Jimmison riding one of our favourite horses 'Golden Girl' Tomara who we had the pleasure of having on our yard for a while. They receive a chq for £150.

The Samantha Jimmison 1.20m Open was won by Sara Blakey and Ferndale Summer Breeze with 48 points. They receive a chq for £200 and rug donated by our sponsor and the Hamilton Poppet perpetual throphy kindly donated by Glenda & Steve Wright. Narrowly behind on 44 points was Alison Lines riding Freda & Julie Pullans Can Can. They receive a chq for £150.

LEADING OWNERS
The owner of each section winner will receive a Leading Owner Trophy at the Ball, they are: Sam Jimmison, Mandy Grey and Sara Blakey.
